Hi, I’m ROBIN.
Welcome. And hi! I’m so glad you’re here.
I consider myself a Buddhist and an Animist (Buddhanimist, perhaps?). That is to say, that I approach life and spirituality through a Zen Buddhist lens, but I am endlessly curious about the aliveness of the world and the human experience.
I spent many years being still in meditation which impacted me profoundly and helped me better understand my heart, body, and mind. However, these days I’m finding more and more joy in movement - a walk through my neighborhood, practicing gentle yoga or simply dancing in the living room with my dog.
It is my wish to support others in experiencing more joy on their spiritual path and in their bodies, no matter their beliefs, and in whatever way makes the most sense for them.
I currently live in Seattle, Washington with my loving partner and the sweetest of all dogs, Cisco.
My Coaching Style
In many spiritual practices, and in Buddhism especially, it’s common to have a teacher or guru to guide you along the path. This can be problematic sometimes (for many reasons). But there’s also the concept of Kalyana Mitra or Spiritual Friend and this is closer to what I aspire to be.
As a Spiritual Friend, we meet as equals. It’s my desire to support anyone who might be experiencing challenges in their spiritual practice and/or disillusionment with their teacher, guru or community.
My Approach
My approach is built on the foundations of traditional coaching which include active listening, meeting my clients where they’re at and trusting in the inherent wisdom of each person.
However, traditional coaching can tend to emphasize verbal expression and the cognitive mind at the expense of the body. While the cognitive mind is important, our bodies also have much to tell us.
My intention is to find balance between the mind and the body, by not ignoring the cognitive mind but also not ignoring the body, which includes our sensations and feeling states.
This approach allows my clients to be fully present with themselves, attend to their experiences, tune into their inherent wisdom and deepen self-awareness in an embodied way.
